Set on an arable farm in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, the Barnsgrove project embodies the client’s vision to create a members’ clubhouse, with thoughtfully crafted private offices and workspaces, relaxed dining and bar settings, versatile event spaces, a fully equipped gym, an airy exercise studio and 3 treatment rooms.
Working with the client’s own appointed structural engineer and project management, Jaques Int Ltd were awarded the contract to fabricate and erect the high specification steel frame and complete the building envelope, before an external fit out company came in to create the rooms and internal spaces.
The building comprises above standard 150mm thick Kingspan QuadCore® KS1000QCK Karrier Panel in Basalt Grey, with additional reverse profile Plastisol single skin cover sheet in Merlin Grey, and 150mm Kingspan QuadCore® KS1000RW Roof Panels in Goosewing Grey.
Structural steel work was fabricated to BS EN 1090-2 – Execution Class II, and coated to industry standard BS EN 1090-2:2008+A1:2011 in a non-standard Wine Red (RAL 005) specified by the client.
High specification aluminium glazing, powder coated to the client’s specification in Olive Drab Matt (RAL 6022), Brett Martin Glass Link roof lights feature in several of the rooms and premium specification doors supplied by Metador completed the building envelope.
The Kingspan QuadCore® KS1000QCK Karrier Panel was installed without the external finish cladding to avoid damage during the build, and temporary board apertures were installed to protect the powder coated aluminium glazing.
The above standard specification with high levels of insulation make for an energy efficient building, with an extensive Solar PV array on the roof and renewable heating in the form of a biomass boiler.
Plastisol coated steel colour-coded trimline gutter system in Merlin Grey, and Plastisol coated flashings completed the exterior of the building.
In addition to the contracted works, Jaques assisted with forming and sealing a high number of roof apertures for ventilation and equipment purposes.
The Barnsgrove (Private Members Club | Barnsgrove | Hampshire) project represents the realisation of an incredible vision by the client. The team at Jaques are proud to have been part of such an extraordinary project.
